Halcyon Trustees was created by John Dean & Elliott Hurst who have considerable and varied experience in large group medical insurance and healthcare trusts marketplace.
Having first worked together in the 1990s, we met in 2021 and reflected on our wide range of market experience and agreed there was a real need to improve governance standards and training in the healthcare trust sector. We saw no other independent trustee firms specialising in supporting healthcare trusts.
Hence we built Halcyon Trustees, the only independent company providing a range of professional support services, focusing solely on the needs, issues and risks when operating or working with healthcare trusts.
Halcyon originates from the Halcyon bird in Greek mythology, which had the power to calm the rough ocean waves. Like those calm waters, 'halcyon' has come to mean a sense of peace or tranquillity.
